Poor Pluto

One of the books I just finished before the end of August is a book that was sent to the Morgan Conservatory. Each participant was given two sheets of paper made by the Morgan to be used in an art piece of any format. The work is to be auctioned off at their Annual Open House and Silent Auction on October 5th, 2013. Proceeds go to the Morgan and it is a great way to support the education and production of handmade paper! I was given two lovely sheets of paper: one charcoal grey and the other a bright white.…

Dard

I spent another great weekend at Hook Pottery Paper to help with some keepsakes for this year's Friends of Dard Hunter Conference. The sunflower seed is not only a political symbol in Chinese imagery, but it is also a very familiar item to many people. Made using…

Bloomington Open Studios Tour Recap

On April 27th and 28th, I joined about 40 other Bloomington artists in opening my studio to the public. We all invited visitors to see our work spaces and showed them the various ways we get from a pile of materials to a finished piece. The two days were full of excited art enthusiasts making the event just as fun for me as it must have been for them. I met some fantastic people that are a part of our community that I would have otherwise never had a chance to talk to. A huge Thank You to everyone who…
